BONAPPETITLIFE breaks the myths on…
KOMBUCHA
KOMBUCHA. It has a pungent smell at first, it probably exploded on you the first time you opened it, and, suspended in this mysterious, carbonated liquid, are floating particles of probiotic bacterium.
This spunky drink is actually just fermented black tea with bacterial and yeast cultures. Just like some yogurts contains probiotic cultured bacteria, kombucha is one of my favorite ways to obtain my daily dose of probiotics. Surprise: probiotic supplement pills are not prescribed by most physicians because supplements have been proven largely ineffective for delivering probiotics. The best day to obtain your nutrients is from your diet!

Kombucha is a miraculous replacement for sodapop, a great hangover cure, and something I often drink for its immediate digestive health benefits! My stomach always feels better after I drink kombucha in the morning with a light breakfast.
Fermented foods, like kombucha, miso, kefir, tempeh, and kimchi, help your over digestive health because of their probiotic content. But, other known health benefits of kombucha include:
- cleansing properties of glucaric acid (scientifically proven to reveal antiproliferative properties against cancer)
- hyaluronic acid and glucosamines in kombucha are great to for joint health
- arthritis
- athlete health
- antioxidant boost from flavonoids
- natural energy from the black tea
Bacterial cultures inside naturally support the enzymes and probiotcs of the digestive system, as well.
You can even make your own with the Kombucha Starter Kit from Thrive Market. Click here for 25% off + free shipping from Thrive!
But, while at your local market today, I would recommend a high quality kombucha brand, such as GT’s or Health Ade. Look for a kombucha with less than 2 g of sugar!

Love it- thank you very much for this lesson… was always wondering what this stuff was.
Do I see a PROMO GOING ON in your blog????????? What??????
