ABOUT MOI/what the heck is FODMAP?
My name is Sophie and I love food. I love food almost as much as I love the look on someone’s face when they bite into something yummy I made.
The kicker is, I love healthy food and feeling good about what I eat.
This blog was originally created to inspire college students to live healthy lives in the wake of the dreaded “freshman-15″ and ever-present, tempting, unhealthy lifestyle choices (you know what I mean).
However, since starting this blog, I was diagnosed with a functional digestive disorder (IBS) which can only be managed and treated with careful dietary alterations! This diet has an ugly name, the FODMAP diet, but it has helped me, and so many others, transform digestive health dramatically. It can also treat acne/problem skin, fructose-intolerant stomachs, gluten-sensitive patients, and those with other functional issues.
FODMAP seems intimidating at first, since there are so many restrictions, but it has been much easier to manage than I realized…AND I still get to eat some pretty darn good food. Try the recipes on my blog to see for yourself! My step-by-step and photographed recipes are great for beginners and experts alike.
